Incident Command System & Leadership Management Training Course

Overview

This training introduces you to the Incident Command System (ICS) and provides the foundation for adopting the ICS Process in your organization.

It enables the personnel to operate efficiently not only during an incident but also in a Shipping Company following Incident Command System processes and principles.

It provides advanced training on management (soft) skills for personnel who are likely to assume the role of the Incident Coordinator or become an Emergency Team member in a Shipping Company.

Objectives

This course is designed to enable personnel to operate efficiently during an incident or crisis event embracing the ICS concepts and process. The training course provide an overview on:

  • Organizational Structure of the ICS
  • Leadership in Incident Management
  • Delegation of Authority and Management by Objectives
  • Functional Areas & Positions
  • Briefing
  • Organizational Flexibility
  • Transfer of Command

and at the end of the lesson, you should be able to:

  • Describe a chain of command and formal communication relationships for your organization
  • Identify common leadership responsibility
  • Delegate the duties within your emergency team
  • organize briefing by objective
  • Transfer of Command
  • Describe span and control and modular development
  • Describe the use of position titles in an emergency team

Who Should Attend

This 2 days course provide training on and resources for personnel who are part of emergency team ashore (Safety Superintendent, Technical Superintendent, etc.) or onboard Emergency Team (Deck & Engine Officers) in a Shipping Company and have experience with in-office exercise and would like to improve his or her management skills in a crisis and/or emergency situation and to be more effective as emergency team member or leader.

The Speakers:

Bruno Di Lascio

Develops, conducts, and coordinates in-office exercise / emergency drills on behalf of ECM for its clients around Europe since 2005. He also has design shore and ship Contingency Plans for vessel operators so that can respond effectively at any time to hazard, accident and emergencies involving vessels.

Alessandro Palumbo

Senior Management Consultant and Executive Coach (Professional Certified Coach) at Azimuth Srl. Project, implement change management and culture change projects for small, medium and large organizations. He assists shipping companies in supervising management skills during in-office exercises and emergency drills, providing valuable solutions for improving effective communication within the team and improve management skills.
